Once in a while you come across a piece of furniture or an idea that grabs you; this is one of those times.

Not long ago I was surfing the internet and came across an American woodworker by the name of Guy Marsden. His idea of talking multiple narrow slats and creating table legs with them hit home with me, so much so that I decided to build a hall table with his design in mind.  The result of his design influence upon me is what you see below.

I'm so fond of this table and it's design that the table has found a home in our front hallway and it's the first thing people see when they walk in our front door.

If you want to be inspired by a really inventive fellow, I suggest you visit his website here  and see if you don't come away from your visit, inspired.

The top and shelf are figured Yellowheart and the slat legs are Purpleheart.
